FAQ

Is this a complete kit?
Yes — air handler and condenser, single zone, with the 25 ft Quick Connect® line set included.

Which size do I need?
MRCOOL lists max coverage from up to 400 sq ft (9K) to up to 1,550 sq ft (36K) under ideal conditions. Real rooms vary — use MRCOOL’s system selector or call the shop to size it.

Do I need an electrician?
The 9K and 12K kits run on 115V; the 18K, 24K and 36K kits run on 208/230V. Each needs a dedicated circuit sized to MRCOOL’s specs (see the table above), and if your local code requires it, a licensed electrician for that hookup.

Warranty?
MRCOOL: 5-year parts, 7-year compressor (DIY 5th Gen E-Star line).

Standard condenser vs Hyper Heat

For 12K and 18K kits you can pick the Hyper Heat condenser. It keeps heating down to −22°F, 9°F colder than the standard kit. The trade-off: at 18K it gives up a little efficiency (21.2 vs 22.5 SEER2, 11 vs 11.5 HSPF2), and at 12K it runs on 230V instead of 115V, so it needs a 230V circuit. If your winters aren’t that cold, the standard kit is the more efficient choice.
