Description
About this board
Endmatched, prefinished, ready
ECB is a tongue & groove endmatched board. Every finish is special order from Johnson Pine, typically a couple of weeks; we confirm the ready date after you order.
End-match means each end of the board has a tongue on one side and a groove on the other. Installed, the ends lock together, which helps keep boards from cupping, and boards don’t all need to land on a stud, so installs go faster with very little waste.
Premium gives you the cleanest face this species produces, with characteristic knots that are red, tight and sound. Graded to NELMA rules. Johnson Pine factory sands and coats every board on all four sides: two coats on the face and edges, one coat on the back. The color stays consistent from board to board.
Johnson Pine sands each board first, then lightly sands between every coat of stain or finish, and applies a final coat. The finish is UV-cured, so it cures hard and durable and adds UV protection. The finish is even and consistent, and the color matches across the order. Factory finished on four sides to resist shrinking, discoloration, and moisture, with the grain still visible.

How much do I need?
Enter the area you’re covering. We use the 2026 catalog face coverage for your profile and size, add waste, and round up (24 LF minimum). Estimate only — we confirm footage and bundle count with you before your order is final.
| Profile | 1×6 face | 1×8 face |
|---|---|---|
| ECB this product · used below | 5.125" | 6.875" |
| Nickel Gap | 4.875" | 6.625" |
Always add at least 5% (end-matched typically needs 3–5%).
The math: sq ft × 12 ÷ face coverage = LF, then × (1 + waste). Catalog example: 500 sq ft of 1×6 ECB → 6,000 ÷ 5.125 = 1,170 LF → × 1.05 = 1,230 LF.
Lengths aren’t picked one by one. We pull random 4′–12′ boards in whole 6-piece bundles. Pickup at 138 Pancake Road, Andover · Mon–Fri 8:00–4:00. Delivery is charged at checkout by zone; we confirm the date when we call.
Before you buy
Good to know
Can I buy special-order finishes online?
Yes. Every ECB finish is special order: it goes in the cart like any other, we order it from Johnson Pine (typically a couple of weeks), and we confirm the ready date after you order. Bluestain is the exception: availability isn’t guaranteed, so call to check.
Why is my footage rounded?
Prefinished boards come in 6-piece bundles of random lengths. We round to whole bundles and confirm the final footage and bundle count with you before your order is final.
What does endmatch mean?
Each end of the board has a tongue on one side and a groove on the other, so boards lock end to end anywhere along the run — not only on a stud. That cuts waste and speeds install.
Pickup or delivery?
Pick up at 138 Pancake Road, Andover, NH · Mon–Fri 8:00–4:00, or choose delivery at checkout. Delivery is charged at checkout by zone; we confirm the date when we call.
How do I get bluestain?
Bluestain finishes are call-only — availability isn’t guaranteed. Call 603-735-6500 and we’ll check what’s in the yard or on order.
